The Organicup supports monthly hygiene in an ecological and sustainable way. Instead of the familiar tampons and pads, you simply insert the cup and use it again every month. How exactly this works and what makes the Organic up so special, you will learn in the following guide. Many customers are already convinced by the cup.

According to the manufacturer, 9 out of 10 users who have tried it once continue to use it.

But of course, it depends on the right folding technique and the correct cleaning.

A closer look at the packaging of OrganiCup Menstrual Cup

Delivered in a practical folding box

The Organicup is delivered in a small brown folding box. Already the packaging looks environmentally conscious and is made of recycled material. Inside you will find the cup itself and a small cotton bag. The bag is discreet and can be closed with two ribbons. So you can easily transport the cup in your bag and always have it with you.

There are no additional instructions in this sense. Instead, the complete box serves as an instruction manual and has all the important information about the Organicup printed on the inside. Small pictures clarify the application so that even beginners should have no problem with the cup. The box seems a bit bulkier than instructions on a piece of paper, but it is much more ecological.

Design and material

The Organicup is shaped like a bell and has a stem at the bottom. The stem is used to retrieve the cup when it is filled. Small grooves help you to remove the cup more easily.

If necessary, the stem can also be shortened with a small pair of scissors – according to your needs.

The entire surface of the Organicup feels smooth and supple. The product is made of medical-grade silicone and is manufactured without bleach or latex. Thus, the Organicup is suitable even for allergy sufferers and has no influence on the natural flora. On the contrary, it even supports its preservation.

Notice: There is no choice of colors.

You get the Organicup only as a transparent model. Two different sizes are available on the market. In terms of softness, it can be classified as soft to medium. It is therefore also suitable for sensitive or very petite women. The upper edge is made a little thicker. It makes folding and insertion easier. In addition, it serves as natural leakage protection and fits well inside. There are air holes under the rim. They seem to be slightly larger than in other menstrual cups. The holes help you to quickly notice when the cup is too full and release the vacuum much more easily.

The Organicup is even easier to grip with the grooves on the lower edge. Even with the stem cut off, you can still get a good grip on the cup and release it easily. The company’s lettering is applied to the surface. Inside there are small measuring lines to control the strength of the period. However, you should clean the cup more thoroughly, especially at the logo and the measuring lines, since residue sticks to them more quickly.

You have a choice between two different sizes. Younger and slim women with a weak pelvic floor should rather choose the Organicup A. For very active women and athletes, Organicup B is more recommended.

In addition, the strength of bleeding plays an important role.

With the smaller cup, it happens on the heavier days that you have to empty it more often. For the choice of size is important the fit of the cervix and whether you have a sensitive bladder.

Comfort and use

The Organicup needs to be emptied twice to four times a day. Overnight, it can easily last up to 12 hours without having to be emptied. The best way to insert it is to use one of the many folding techniques. You should only make sure that the front edge is folded quite narrowly. At the rear end towards the stem, the cup is usually a little wider. Basically, the Organicup is no larger than a conventional tampon, which will make it much easier for you to use.

Important: The cup should not sit as deep as a tampon.

Some users describe a slight popping after insertion. However, some do not notice that the cup has fully unfolded. You will have to make your own experience, and it is best to take a comfortable position in a squatting position or over the toilet. Relaxation is very important during insertion, otherwise, the cup will slip or not fit properly. You must not feel it while wearing it. In the beginning, the application and wearing sensation seem to take some getting used to. After about two to three cycles, however, the initial difficulties should have subsided.

Customers recommend wearing a panty liner, especially during the first few applications. If the cup has slipped back a lot, it is difficult to release the negative pressure. First, tighten your pelvic floor muscles a little and try to push the cup forward with light contractions. As soon as you can grasp it with your fingers, simply press in a little on the side, release the vacuum and pull it out.

One drawback: the Organicup can quickly become discolored during use.
